How I came to Hipness |
|
I am just dancer from Des Moines, Ia that loves what I do. I started dancing after a car accident that left me with core muscle issues. I fell in love with bellydance. I share my love of dance with my troupe mates. I share my love of dance with my children. I share my love of dance with my audiences. I am in constant search of learning new ways of dancing, and putting them together seamlessly in improv or choreography. I have been given wonderful opportunities to learn with Zoe Jakes, Artemis Mourat, Eva Cernik, Amy Sigil and Unmata, Cassandra, Karen Barbee, Princess Farhana, Sam Riggs, John Compton, Joe Williams, Jim Boz, Saqra, Aziza Sa'id, Barbara Sorenson of Benu, Julianna, Delilah, Jasmin Jahal, and several others. Each of these teachers has a special place in my heart and my dancing style. Their education has been priceless. |

I was in a car accident 11 years ago that caused some muscle and body weakness. I needed a good core building workout that was low impact. I took classes and fell in love. Been dancing ever since. |

It will be fun.I would love to visit both Egypt and Turkey. The learning possibilities would be endless there.Or....I would love to camp out at Hot Pot Studios and get my butt kicked by Amy Sigil for a month or so...(maybe after my kids go to college)! |

Dance style(s): Cabaret, Bollywood, Some Tribal, Lots of Fusion I began my adventure in belly dance in 2000. I needed a low impact, core building exercise that I could do while my children took their afternoon naps. I took my first class through community education here in Des Moines. I had never had a dance class in my life, although I was mesmerized by all types of dance. This was the dance style for me!! I have been dancing 10 years. I have been teaching for three years. I love the movement, the freedom and the self confidence that you learn when you dance this art form. It has given me the confidence to say that I am truly happy within my own body, no matter what size I may be. |

A splash of Egyptian, a measure of American Cabaret, a dollop of Tribal, a cup of Bollywood, and a whole lot of Fusion is Creative Fusion Dance Company. Isaura, a founding member of the troupe, is a large part of that equation. Learning new ways of dance and incorporating it into her performance has always been her passion. Whether it be a hip circle, or a shimmy, she seeks new ways of doing the same but different. With a foundation in Egyptian and American Cabaret, she takes on all belly dance styles with a joy that is spread to all. |

I came across hipmix when I was out looking for bellydance websites that I might find birds of a feather at. I love the site, and I am always intrigued by the new ideas that I find here!! |
