I have been bellydancing since 1998; my favorite style of bellydance is Tribal style as it is such a mix of styles that allows for a lot of freedom. I also adore Russian Gypsy dance, its probably one of my favorite things to do in the world, and so I love to fuse the two together and dance Gypsy-Bellydance Fusion. My inspirations come from Laurel Victoria Grey and her amazing Silk Road dance Co., Dalia Carella and her own Gypsy fusion called Dunyavi (World Gypsy), Eva Cernik, Piper Reid, Rachel Brice, and my cousin Katya who inspired me to dance when she started learning!I am part of the troupe Pale Moon Bellydance which consists of myself, Katya Zvezda, and my former student and dear friend Ona Mira. We have performed together or separately at festivals, weddings, cafe's, parades, benefits, and other events. We hold 'Dark Hips', a yearly halloween show at the Iguana Cafe in downtown Tahlequah, Ok. The Iguana Cafe has been one of my favorite places to perform and though I now live in Kansas, you can still see Ona and Mephare perform there regularly. Mephare is a good friend of ours who is part of the new troupe Tribal Raqs in Tahlequah. As I now reside in Emporia, Ks, I'm available for performances and workshops (www.lunazahra.viviti.com for more info) and will be teaching at Flinthills Tech during the Spring (Mar-June).
What brought me to this subculture of hipness, huh? without a doubt my cousin Katya! She started learning when she was 13 and I was 16 and I thought it was the coolest thing!

Teacher
I have been bellydancing for over 10 years. I took classes and attended workshops whenever they were offered and am a firm believer that one can teach themselves anything if they really want to. I have taught classes in the studio setting and privately. My favorite styles are American Tribal and Gypsy Fusion Bellydance. I formed a small Troupe called Pele's Fire when I was 20, and am now 1/3 of the troupe Pale Moon Bellydance with my friend and former student Ona Mira and my cousin Katya Zvezda. Until my recent move I performed regularly at the Iguana Cafe in downtown Tahlequah. You can still see Ona perform there with our friend and fellow dancer Mehpare. I am available for performances and workshops (For more info on booking me for your event click the corresponding link above) I will be teachning beginning bellydance at Flinthills Technical College from March through June. Saturdays 3pm-5pm.
See my site: WWW.LUNAZAHRA.VIVITI.COM for more information on classes and everything else!
