Still relatively young dancer with almost 5yrs experience. I studied a mix of styles from the very first class so consider myself a tribal fusionist, with an inclination towards ITS.I have been teaching beginners for just over a year in Midland/Odessa, TX.I am also co-director of Storm Troupers Bellydance alongside Andrea Mauldin. She is most definitely the Creative Director (though we all share ideas). I am the Chief Event Director!
Dilara invited me over, and I've now had the time to sit down and put something decent on this profile! :)

I love travelling, so hope to add to this list each year.
I love to dance! I am most certainly a tribal dancer (with leanings towards tribal fusion, although I adore dancing in a troupe). However, I take classes in various styles to keep things new and interesting. My dream is to study traditional Middle Eastern dances from top professionals on a regular basis.
I also love to travel. I was born and raised in Britain, so I love to travel home as often as I can. In addition I have visited France, Spain, Holland, Egypt, and Peru, plus travelled throughout the southern United States. I now live in Texas.
Outside of bellydance, my other passions are horses and English riding. I rode a lot as a child in Britain, but had to give it up once the expense got too much. Recently I found a local lady who owns Icelandic horses who teaches Classical English riding. So I am now taking lessons again once a week. My dream is to one day own a couple of English riding horses. I've got my husband working on the logistics of that right now!
I like to write too, and am now a contributing writer at 'fuse': A Tribal and Tribal Fusion Bellydance Magazine.
Dancer
Dance style(s): ITS, Tribal Fusion
Enjoying the ride through the world of tribal bellydance, with the occasional detour into Cabaret and Egyptian Folkloric. I dance because it gives me pleasure, and I love the feeling of joy I can share with my audience. I am a young dancer, with much to learn, but I love entertaining! I have a tendancy to poke fun at myself during performance, especially after making a mistake. I love to hear the audience laugh! For me this dance is about sharing myself with the audience, celebrating the fact that I am a woman (and curvy at that!), and enjoying the moment. I am not the most technical dancer, but I like to think I have the ability to capture the audience attention and bring a little slice of happiness into their lives, even if just for a moment. Sometimes that involves trying new things, and doing something the audience doesn't expect. Hence the lightsabers ...
In 2011 I Decided to take on a stage name: Andrasta (who was an ancient British war goddess). I am also hoping to pursue certification with BlackSheep Bellydance.
Teacher
I fell into teaching because there are ZERO instructors in my area. In order to keep myself motivated to dance, and to share it with others, I agreed to take over from Andrea Mauldin, teaching her class when she decided to go back to school full time. Since then I think my own dancing ability has improved ten-fold!
I currently have a beginners level general bellydance class in Big Spring and Odessa, TX. I focus on body awareness, isolation drills, and having fun through combinations and improv dancing. I am also introducing my students to the concepts of synchronized group improvisation.
I tell all my students to continuously seek instruction elsewhere in addition to my class. I believe all dancers should take classes with a number of different instructors, in order to become well rounded. I am still in the process of developing my style, but I enjoy sharing my experiences with beginners.
